ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE vs HUMAN INTELLIGENCE

PERSONIFICATION!

                                            PERSONIFICATION
                             Artificial Intelligence vs Human Intelligence

I just copy-pasted the terms Personification and Artificial Intelligence in Google’s search bar. These were the results:

Personification: The attribution of a personal nature or human characteristics to something non-human, or the representation of a quality in human form.

Artificial Intelligence: Artificial intelligence (AI) refers to the simulation of human intelligence in machines that are programmed to think like humans and mimic their actions.

Synonymous! These both sound the same.

We all would have learnt about this poetic device in our schoolings, but now, all the children use personified machines to make them understand literature and almost everything around the globe.

We would have gone through many blogs and videos that state “AI is going to conquer the world and humans will be bombarded with unemployment”. Wait, what?! AI is something which humans created and how will we tend to lose against AI? On the contrary, the sad reality is that we people are over-using machines and artificial resources to get things done. Maybe this is why most of the “Media” consider AI and nuclear weapons almost the same.

AI gives a sense of Metaphor rather than rendering a Simile! Not only this but also beyond this. The machines haven't taken over. Not yet at least. However, they are seeking their way into our lives, affecting how we live, work and entertain ourselves.

From voice-powered personal assistants like Siri and Alexa, to more underlying and fundamental technologies such as behavioral algorithms, suggestive searches and autonomously-powered self-driving vehicles boasting powerful predictive capabilities, there are several examples and applications of artificial intelligence in use today.

A funny conversation between AI and human:

Human: Where do you see yourself in the next five years? AI Robot : 5X advancement, 50X productivity, 500X data

Human: Where do you see me in the next five years? AI Robot : I would not rather see you by then! You will be replaced with one of my peers.

Let’s just ponder over an example:

AI Text Editors or Autocorrect

Pros: It makes typing easier without any typos Cons: Some words will automatically “correct" itself, this feature can give you glitches, like if you typed living it may accidentally think you're trying to write licking or if you wanted to type Tamil with the medium of English text, this may annoy you more!

Thus, this needs human attention and intervention to avoid bad consequences either personally or professionally.

Let’s look at several important scenarios:

#1 -- Siri Everyone is familiar with Apple's personal assistant, Siri. She's the friendly voice-activated computer that we interact with on a daily basis. She helps us find information, gives us directions, add events to our calendars, helps us send messages and so on. Siri is a pseudo-intelligent digital personal assistant.

#2 -- Alexa Alexa's rise to become the smart home's hub, has been somewhat meteoric. When Amazon first introduced Alexa, it took much of the world by storm. It is a revolutionary product that can help us scour the web for information, shop, schedule appointments, set alarms and a million other things, but also help power our smart homes and be a conduit for those that might have limited mobility.

#3 -- Tesla If you don't own a Tesla, you have no idea what you're missing. This is quite possibly one of the best cars ever made. Not only for the fact that it's received so many accolades, but because of its predictive capabilities, self-driving features and sheer technological "coolness."

Cons: Security could be an issue, since all these devices store your history on the cloud. It’s not hacker-proof. Virtual assistants can save you valuable time and money, as well as help keep your home secure, but it's important to use common sense when it comes to cyber security, as you would with any other web-connected device.

After having a sight on these, I jot down my views as:

Variety in technologies, brought us closer to strangers and also close to enmity. Made us aware about events ,but doubtful with self. Introduced to many friends, then invited lots of nightmares! Gave us more publicity, then exploited us! Saved more time but made us waste in futile things.

Invention of AI is like rain on drought-spread land but we were fooled. Nah! It is acid rain destroying most features of the real world leaving behind some of them.
